The Town of Clermont was incorporated in 1903. Decades later, it became an "included town" with the city-county consolidation of Unigov in 1970. This means that all laws of Indianapolis-Marion County now also apply in Clermont. Clermont may still pass its own laws, but they cannot be less restrictive or conflict with those of the county.
